7.13.2011 Skull Beach Langkawi, Malaysia White-sand beach. From this beach, you could see islands/rocky outcrops that belonged to Thailand.  The beach is called Skull Beach because the islands used to house prisoners. When the prisoners tried to escape, many died because the water was infested with sharks that would eat them. Their skulls would wash up on shore.
